Who We Are

WeissWorks Cabinetry Inc. is a Michigan based millworks company that provides valued clientele with one of a kind bespoke cabinetry.

Our design values of symmetry, proportion and simplicity touch each of our projects but so does the personality and character of the home and the people living there. If you look at our projects you’ll see these themes of symmetry, proportion and simplicity underpinning each space we design but the personality of the homeowners and the heritage of their home is what shines through.

Our Legacy

Derek Weiss

Derek Weiss is the founder of WeissWorks and a 3rd generation New England Carpenter. His attention to detail, skilled artistry, and precise standards led to the creation of this company.

His vision was to bring bespoke and handcrafted millworks, cabinetry, and furniture pieces back to Detroit, which once was a mecca of quality and innovation that slowly fell to the trappings of mass production.  Derek believed in future-proofing both in terms of design and quality.   So we take an innovative approach to the traditional kitchen cabinet design and manufacture process, drawing upon the heritage of cabinetry to influence the joinery methods. All while using only the best materials, informed design, modern integration,  and  traditional craftsmanship.

Derek believed that if it carried his name it carried his word and we will uphold that pedigree.  He is survived by his wife Melissa, son Levi, son Wyatt, son Lucas and the passionate craftsmen and designers at WeissWorks.
